Propecia Warnings
Propecia is only to be used by men. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not touch Propecia tablets that are crushed or broken. The tablets are coated to prevent contact with the active ingredient, but women who are pregnant with a boy and who absorb any of the active ingredients through their skin or mouth are at risk to deliver a baby with abnormal genitals. If a pregnant woman is exposed to Propecia, talk to your doctor.
Propecia Drug Interactions
If you take Propecia, you may notice some changes in sexual function. Most of these effects will eventually cease, but check with your doctor if they continue or are unpleasant. Swelling of lips or skin rashes indicate toxicity and you should contact your primary care physician immediately. Any other effects that are bothersome can be discussed with your pharmacist.
Propecia Missed Dose
You should not try to make up for missed doses of Propecia. After skipping a dose, just continue with your scheduled dosage. Try to take each pill right at the scheduled time.
Propecia Storage
Store Propecia in a dark, dry place, and keep it at room temperature. The medication should remain in its original container.
Anything Else I Should Know About Propecia
Once you begin taking Propecia, you can expect to begin seeing new hair growth during the first twelve months. Using Propecia will help new hair grow in areas of the scalp that are balding.
Propecia may help slow the rate of existing hair loss. Do not expect to grow back all that you have lost. Few studies have been done to show how Propecia helps grow new hair around the hairline or on the sides of the head.
Male baldness typically occurs gradually, and healthy hair grows an average of one half inch per month. You must be patient to see the desired results.
Expect to take Propecia for three months before seeing any noticeable changes. You must continue to use Propecia in order to continue seeing improvements. If after twelve months of treatment you have not seen any changes, Propecia may not be effective for you.
Women should not take Propecia. It will not have any impact on baldness caused by androgenetic alopecia in menopausal women.
Do not allow anyone else to use your prescription or your medication. Keep out of reach of children.
